The Edgecliff

The condo was a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit. Initially, Craig was concerned about the smaller size of the unit. However, the windows and view more than compensated for the smaller square footage. The condo was only 2 miles from our jobs in downtown Cincinnati and offered us the drive-in drive-out lifestyle we wanted. The building has a community room, fitness center and pool. Within the Edgecliff, 2 floors hosted various businesses including a doctor office, beauty salon and restaurant.

Over the course of the nine years, we owned the condo, Craig served on the Condo Association Board as a member, VP, and finally as President along with other talented owners. Numerous improvements were made to the physical plant during this time.

Within a few steps from Eden Park, the location was quite good for us. Eden Park offered access to the Conservatory, Art Museum, Ampitheater, Playhouse in the Park and the many restaurants of Mount Adams and East Walnut Hills.

When the real estate market heated up in 2021, we saw an opportunity to leave the condo behind in exchange for an apartment. The plan was that when Craig retired, we would be in a position to move out of the country at the end of the lease without having to sell the condo at that time.

The condo sold within 1 week of listing and the search was on to find an apartment. One week after the sale, Karen found @580. We located a moving company, began packing and downsizing our stuff to fit into the 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom footprint. We went from listing the condo to moving out all in the same month. Whew!
